Author of the restoration of these two last busts was Maura Masini, an expert in the recovery of the marbles of ancient archaeological collection; Mercurio has funded the work with 2500 euros, choosing to present them in the week of the commemoration of “Electress Palatine”. “I am very pleased to announce this restoration – said the superintendent of the State Museums of Florence, Cristina Acidini -, so we can get the conservation and enhancement of the heritage of the Uffizi Gallery.”
The recovery of the statues is part of the initiative “Give yourself a restoration” (Regalati un restauro), promoted, among others, by Amici degli Uffizi, Agenzia amici del turismo and Soci-Coop.
