“It’s still too early to judge new budget bill of the government, but I’m very worried about raising taxes.” The mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi, is not confident about the increase of taxes asked from Mario Monti, Prime Minister, in order to try to stop financial attacks to Italy.
Renzi comments the document of the government in its E-news, a newsletter sent every week to the Florentines. “In the work of the government I see the lights and shadows – Renzi wrote -. The positive thing is that financial attack to our Country seems to be decreasing, but others aspects such as new taxes do not convince me”.
According to Renzi, “if the money will cost less the banks will return lend money, helping families and businesses, removing the risk of credit crunch. But the increase of the state and regional taxes without aids for the middle class increases the number of families in difficulty”.
The uncertainties regard also the Municipalities. “Monti are continuing with the hallucinatory mechanism of the stability pact, that I prefer to call stupidity pact, because forces the companies to become banks for local governments”.
