Battle of Anghiari hunting (National Geographic)It returns “visible” the wall of the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, Florence. Until yesterday, the wall was occupied by scaffolding used for the “hunt” to the lost painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, the “Battle of Anghiari.” The Ministry of Cultural Heritage has not given permission to continue the investigation funded by National Geographic and led by Professor Maurizio Seracini.

Nat Geo world headquarterNational Geographic notes that the research project for the Battle of Anghiari is suspended “until further notice”. It is what we read in a note of the Nat Geo Society that sponsors the research of the hidden fresco by Leonardo Da Vinci. The research has been conducted by Maurizio Seracini, on the east wall of the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, Florence, Italy.

The search for Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Battle of Anghiari” conducted in the Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio is a project led by the National Geographic Society and UC San Diego’s Center of Interdisciplinary Science for Art, Architecture and Archaeology, in cooperation with the City of Florence.
