FLORENCE, ITALY – Whistles and white handkerchiefs greeted players from both sides at the start of this evening’s match between Parma and Fiorentina (final score 2-2), the result of tensions that have accumulated in Parma since the defeat at home to Napoli and, earlier still, away to Genoa.
The referees Valeri and Romeo, in particular, were the target of the protest. Yet this was another game. Roberto Donadoni chose to leave Jonathan Biabiany on the bench, while Delio Rossi was without the injured Stevan Jovetic and paired Andrea Lazzari with the former Parma man Amauri up front.
The result has lifted Fiorentina to 12th place while Parma have climbed to 16th, four points clear of the drop zone.
