Pitti Uomo 82 will be held in Florence, at the Fortezza da Basso, 19-22 June 2012. There will be around 1020 brands at the Fortezza da Basso, plus another 70 women’s collections at Pitti W at the Dogana. The fair’s place as the key reference on the international fashion scene is confirmed by the figures.

Uffizi Gallery, watch the new spaces
The Uffizi Gallery will shortly open ten new spaces, dedicated to 16th-century painters, mainly from Tuscany, from Andrea del Sarto to Bronzino and Raffaello. There will also be a gallery with Hellenistic sculptures. The new spaces, a statement reads, will open ”in the coming months.”

5.8 earthquake shook Florence, no damages
A magnitude 5.8 earthquake shook northern Italy on Tuesday and authorities were investigating reports of possible victims. Some schools had been evacuated as far south as Florence. Italian news agencies said six people were confirmed dead and many people were injured. It is the second big earthquake in a couple of week in the North of the Country. Residents of Florence, Italy, were among those who felt the earthquake, at 9 am.

Open studios to discover the contemporary art

Wine-made painting art exhibit at Viva Vino LA
A new offerings this year at Viva Vino LA. It includes a special wine-made painting art exhibit by Elisabetta Rogai and an advance two-week Italian Restaurant Week at participating restaurants. Rogai uses red and white wine without any other chemicals to paint her romantic, expressive depictions of women.
